TacitLanguage: Glove For The Hearing Impaired

person wearing TacitLanguage - the glove with lights to make signing easier in dar environments

To make signing simple in dim or not so well lit areas, a design student from New Zealand has developed a very simple glove called TacitLanguage that can be used by people with hearing impairment or sign language interpreters in darker environments.

The simple design consists of a glove with two lights on two fingers and four on the wrist that light up whenever the user makes movement. The movement is picked up by the attached accelerometer, and activates the lights. Although worn on just one hand, the lights are bright enough to illuminate the face and the other hand

See the video for a quick demonstration of TacitLanguage.
